About Miss Shirley
I am your local piano teacher here in Bee Cave and am resuming teaching after the last 2 difficult years we've had. I teach the fundamentals of piano theory, popular, classical and jazz to students of all ages.
I had a late start as a pre-teen in my piano studies.
For several years I attended the studio of Arthur Medoff, a renowned piano teacher in Boston, where I grew up.
It was due to his encouragement and inspiration that I became a piano teacher myself. For that, I am ever grateful to him.
I later attended Berklee School of Music where I studied jazz theory and chord harmonization.
In the following years I taught in CA, WA, and now here in Texas. I left CA with a full schedule of eager to learn students of all ages and memories of delightful recitals each Spring.
I most enjoy teaching early year students the fundamentals of piano theory to enhance their enjoyment of playing throughout a lifetime.
